RED SOX - PARKING

YES, IT'S TIME TO BEGIN OUR ANNUAL RITE OF SPRING TRAINING; CAR PARKING AT THE STADIUM!

SIGN UP ONLINE NOW - CLICK HERE!

See The Game Roster See the Club Member Roster

BE SURE TO "CHECK THE ROSTER" & PLEASE SIGN UP FOR GAMES WHERE WE NEED YOU THE MOST!!

The Club has an agreement with the Boston Red Sox to operate the parking lots at City of Palms Park for any events held there. The spring training games of the Red Sox is our busiest time and one of our major fund raisers - this will be our seventeenth year. Members are asked to participate by working a portion of at least five games. Our snowbird friends are welcome and appreciated. We have more fun and get to know each other better in the parking lots at ball games than anything else the Club does.

Additionally, this year we will also handle the parking at Family Health Centers (FHC) at the corner of Crawford and Heitman. It is two blocks north of the Rusty Robson lot. For M-F day games we will monitor the lots to keep cars out as they are open for business. For evening and weekend games will use the entire FHC campus to park cars. We will fill up the West (Rusty Robson) lot first so we don’t cannibalize ourselves.

WHEN ARE THE GAMES?

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

Here's how our parking operation works and who's who:

Team Captains:
The boss that day - the decision maker. Checks that everybody shows up and fills vacancies if necessary. Is responsible for two-way radios. Jumps in to help when and where needed. Makes sure that sandwiches are ordered and picked up. With staff, collects money. Recruits workers.

Workers:
Collect parking fees at gates and directs all traffic to parking spaces - wears a big SMILE and has fun while doing it.

Telephone Committee:
Phones workers the day before the game they are to work to remind them of the time to arrive - reports to Team Captain for that day after calls are made.

Staff:
Stocks cooler with drinks and ice, keeps stock of shirts, caps, vests, and jackets on hand at games. Arrives same time, or earlier, as TC. Unlocks gate on Grand Ave., gets golf cart, checks lots, places signs and generally gets set up for the day. Provides banks (change money) to Team Captain. Collects money from gates and with TC sorts bills, etc. and turns in to BRS. Staff is not expected to remain in the parking lots all day - may come and go. Everyone is to wear the shirts, caps, and safety vests provided and khaki (tan or light brown) slacks or shorts while working in the parking lots - please don't wear anything else - - - no funny hats, etc.. Jackets will be on hand for cold or wet days. Safety vests and jackets are to remain with the club - don't take them with you. The shirts and caps are yours. Make-ups will be given for each game worked.

At any time after the games start - you find that you cannot work the shift that you are signed up for - YOU are to contact the TC for that game and you are also expected to find someone to take your place. Please don’t call the office after games start. If you have any questions get them answered before the first game.

When reporting for work drive through the main gate of the west lot on Grand Ave. about 50 yards north of Edison Ave. Park along first row, against hedge.  You will assigned at that point.

Members and snowbirds wearing BRS shirts and caps provided may enter the stadium through the door marked “Lee County Sports Authority.” Do not enter at any other point. Rest rooms are located directly across the concourse. You may go in to the seating area and watch the game, if you’ve finished your shift - sit in any unoccupied seat, but give it up cheerfully if the ticket holder arrives. DO NOT DRINK BEER while wearing Red Sox shirts and caps - you are perceived as a BRS employee..

If you must reach one of us while we’re working, Bob Beville can be reached at 239-841-1684.
